The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office released the full 2021 Shots Fired report and found that the victims were disproportionally young Black and brown males.
Last year, there were 1,405 shootings reported in the region, including 460 fatal and non-fatal victims.
Among those who were shot, 390 were male; 379 were BIPOC; 225 were Black or African American. Additionally, 61 out of 225 Black or African American victims were males were under 25 years old. You can see the full report here.
